Mansus Trezor

Classification: Dry white wine
Varietals: 100% Sauvignonasse (aka Tokaj, Friulano)
Appellation: Brje, Vipava Valley, Slovenia

Climate: Mild Mediterranean, with dry and hot summers, and mild winters.
Terrain: The Vipava Valley is right on the border with Italy, north of the Italian port city of Trieste. The area consists of hills where the continental climate of the Alps collides with the more temperate mild Mediterranean climate of the Adriatic. Makovec vineyards are located in the village of Brje, on the hills, where the bora is frequent and the soil contains marl, rich in minerals, which can be seen in the minerality of the wine.
Farming: Organic. The vineyards have no irrigation, spraying only with sulfites and copper if necessary.
Vinification: All grapes are hand-picked, removed and spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks. Aged in stainless steel tanks. Bottled unfiltered.
Tasting Notes: The smell is reminiscent of dank herbs, dried fruit, and acacia. The taste delivers tons of depth with a creamy palate of baked apples, leeks and pleant acidity. A perfect versatile white that can spill into the colder months with a variety of dishes, such as grilled fish dishes, poultry and rabbit, Alpine aged cheeses and all the cured meats.
