Vinification: Hand harvested and de-stemmed. The maceration period lasted for about 24 hours. All fermentation was done in stainless steels tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve the aromas and freshness. Temperatures were approx. 16˚C-18˚C. After aging in the inox tanks for approximately 10 months, the wine is coarsely fined and filtered before bottling.
Tasting Notes: This Graševina, comes from Krauthaker’s most prized vineyard called Mitrovac. The wine’s aromas are pure, clean and poignant, but with depth and complexity. Ripe grapefruit and apples are supported by a counterweighing minerality and slight undertones of noble rot, which both follow through on the palate. In the mouth, the wine prances in a delightfully youthful but elegant manner, providing full, warm, creamy, vibrant, delicious viscosity and acidity, with pleasantly mild bitterness which is typical of the grape variety.
Accompany with warm appetizers, cheese strudels, vegetable casseroles, pasta in cream sauces, cooked meat, beef stews, whole roasted white/blue fish, sushi/sashimi galore, braised rack of pork, and – one of our favorites – mussels made in white wine, garlic and parsley sauce.
