Terrain: The terrain of the entire Štajerska region is made up of steep-sloped vineyards and narrow, wind-rich hill valleys. A diverse geological soil composition, consisting mainly of sand and clay with marl in the lower layers. The vineyards spread out over the finest wine-growing sites of Haloze Hills.
Farming: Organic farming; in conversion to certification
Vinification: 15 days warm skin maceration followed by spontaneous fermentation with no added yeast. Aged for 9 months in used French oak, with no fining or filtration, and only minimal sulfur addition used at blending.
Tasting Notes: Rose amber in color with intense aromatics that jump out of the glass of lemongrass, grapefruit peel, and gardenia. The wine delivers a beautifully layered structure on the palate, lively but juicy of lychee, spiced grapefruit, lifted by zesty acidity.
Bojan made his mark in winemaking with his award‐winning Sauvignon Blanc, and this skin contact expression is no exception to his excellence with the varietal. Capturing the intense aromatics and fruit components of the varietal, while maintaining a beautiful and enjoyable balance of freshness and acidity for a skin contact white. This wine is so versatile, as it can hold up to fried foods, Green curry with spice, as well as richer white meats and fish: try it with skate wing schnitzel!
Another creation by Kobal that curates a wine experience that perfectly captures introspection and pleasure.
